Today is a big day. We’ve painted and furnished the office. We’ve had the help and support of so many as we begin a new chapter in our lives. Today we open our doors to the public, and welcome you to our Grand Opening.
Ever since I completed my graduate work at BYU, I toyed with the idea of my own practice. The ability to evaluate and treat hearing loss in a way that was congruent with my education and experience always intrigued me…but owning a business is daunting. I grew up in a family with a father who was self-employed and have been keenly aware of the joys and heartaches of an entrepreneur. Things didn’t work out the way my father had envisioned, and this has weighed heavily on my heart. However, I learned so much through his experience, including his mistakes and triumphs.
I have felt guided and supported as we embarked on this adventure. Opportunities opened up, we couldn’t have had a better location! Minidoka Memorial Hospital has been wonderful to work with. I have fabulous business partners who have mentored me. I have a “fairy godfather” of audiology who has been my mentor and friend.
So, here we go. We’re open for business, and excited to welcome each of you to our office today. Enjoy some treats, win a door prize, come meet me and our family, and come see how better hearing can make life sweeter. See you at 4pm!
