{"id":2304,"date":"2014-07-22T16:58:29","date_gmt":"2014-07-22T22:58:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mtharrisonaudiology.fm1.dev\/hearing-instruments-personalized\/"},"modified":"2023-11-02T09:51:42","modified_gmt":"2023-11-02T15:51:42","slug":"hearing-instruments-personalized","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mtharrisonaudiology.com\/hearing-instruments-personalized\/","title":{"rendered":"Hearing instruments, personalized."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In today\u2019s commoditized world, it is easy to see hearing instruments as a widget. &nbsp;You see online ads for cheap hearing aids. &nbsp;You can walk into a Costco and purchase good hearing technology at a very cheap price. &nbsp;However, hearing instruments are not a commodity. &nbsp;They are a regulated medical device and need to be fit and used in a manner prescribed by the FDA and your hearing healthcare provider. &nbsp;They are not just a widget that are a one-size-fits-all. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/mtharrisonaudiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/halo-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2335\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mtharrisonaudiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/halo-1.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mtharrisonaudiology.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/halo-1-256x256.jpg 256w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>That being said, personalization and customization are incredibly important. &nbsp;Precise and thorough diagnostic testing is critical, as is the fitting process followed by your hearing care provider. &nbsp;Although fitting software \u201cfirst fit\u201d is a good start, it takes real ear measurements and experience to actually program hearing aids that are appropriate for each individual.
